Porec is one of the most popular resort towns in Istria, and it has been named as the top resort in Croatian frequently over the years by the Croatian National Tourist Office. Located in the heart of the western coast of Istria, the town is known for its culture, sports, entertainment, luxury resorts, and the beauty of its public spaces.

This ancient Roman town is also referred to as Parenzo, and the entire surrounding area is devoted to promoting summer tourism. Porec is located halfway between Novigrad and Rovinj. It surprises many tourists to learn that the town is over 2000 years old. The beautiful town is set around a harbor and protected from the sea by the small island of San Nicola or Sveti Nikola.

The town of Porec is most famous for the Euphrasian Basilica, which is a 6th-century architectural wonder of the Byzantine era. This basilica was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The Euphrasian Basilica is the most visited historical attraction in Porec. Apart from the main basilica building, there is also a beautiful bell town, a sacristy, and a baptistery sprawled across this complex. Mass services are still held at the basilica every day, and people from all beliefs, backgrounds, and faiths flock to this place to check out the various decorative elements of the complex, especially its stunning mosaic floors. Another of the most visited attraction in Porec is Aquacolors, a fantastic fun zone for the entire family. Aquacolors is a fun and family-friendly waterpark located just outside of Porec. The waterpark opened in 2015, and since then, it has proven to be a huge hit, quickly becoming one of the best waterparks in Croatia. Aquacolors is also one of the biggest waterparks in southeast Europe. The park is home to many types of fun slides and attractions like the lazy river and wave pool. If you are touring Porec in the summer months, a visit to Aquacolors should be the first on your list of things to do in Porec.

Porec is also renowned for its many stunning camping grounds. Tourists can take tents and other camping equipment on rent and set up camps on a site of their choosing. In addition, there are many campsites like Ulika, Umag, Istria, and many others that offer premium camps and plans for tourists.

If camping is not your cup of tea, then you can choose to visit Zelena Laguna Beach, the best beach in Porec. While there are many beautiful beaches in the area, like the Pical Beach and the Delfin Beach, the Zelena Laguna has built a reputation for being the best as it rarely gets too crowded and there are many little coves and bays here for you to explore and discover. The calm waters of Zelena Beach also provide the ideal swimming conditions. There are many restaurants and cafes located nearby for you to try out Croatian delicacies and even a wakeboard park if you want to indulge in watersports.
