Biograd na Moru, commonly only known as Biograd, is a beautiful town in northern Dalmatia, Croatia. The city is important as it was the erstwhile medieval Croatian Kingdom capital. Located on the coast of the magnificent Adriatic Sea and overlooking the island of Pasman, Biograd na Moru is a popular tourism destination.

Not only is Biograd a popular tourism destination, but it is also a very famous sailing destination. There is a large marina located here, said to be one of the best in all of Croatia with 750 berths. Biograd is also also the perfect location from where you can visit numerous national and nature parks in Croatia.

'Na moru' means 'on the sea' while Biograd means 'white town.' The name of the town goes back to the 10th century when the word 'bijeli' used to mean 'white' and was a name given to capital cities. The town is today known for its beautiful golden beaches and numerous small islands.

Soline Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Biograd. This sandy beach is located along the south and includes many cafes and restaurants. There are many water sports that are carried out here, and you can even rent small boats, canoes, and dinghies to explore the nearby waters.

The pebbly Drazica beach is another popular tourist spot as it is closer to town. Another pebbly beach, the Bosana Beach, is located to the north of Biograd and is known for water sports and delicious food.

Apart from the beaches, there are many other places to see in Biograd. The Marina Kornati, or the harbor, is the best place to take a walk through as you take in the view of hundreds of boats docked here. There is a famous restaurant located here that is well-known for its delicious traditional cuisine.

While in Biograd, you must also check out the Biograd Museum, which houses a variety of items from the town's history. The most interesting is the exhibit of items recovered from a Venetian ship that sunk off the coast of Biograd in the 16th century. The ship was discovered nearly 400 years later in 1967 by a local fisherman.

There are many churches that dot this town, including the renowned 18th century Church of St. Anastasia and the smaller Church of St. Rocco. A popular tourist spot is the remains of the medieval Church of St. Catherine.

Biograd na Moru is also home to a waterpark. This theme park comprises of three main themes - Space, Pirate City, and the Wild West. The park continues to add various popular attractions each year.

Due to Biograd's proximity to the National park Kornati, you should also take a day trip and go for a tour of this unique archipelago. The Vrana Lake Nature Park is also only seven kilometers from Biograd and is the perfect destination for those who love to fish.
