Brela is a beautiful holiday town in Croatia. This favorite summer destination is located at the bottom of Biokovo, on the pristine Makarska River. When coming from the north, Brela is the first tourist destination situated on the Makarska Riviera. With a population of just 1900 people, the upper part of the town is located on the mountain within the border of the Nature Park Biokovo, while the lower and newer part of the town is located by the sea. The newer part of Brela consists of various smaller settlements, including Donje Selo and soline, which are the largest settlements of Brela.

When in Croatia, you must visit Brela for the many beautiful things the town has to offer. The highlight of this town is undoubtedly its golden sandy beaches. In fact, the beaches of Brela are some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Croatia.

Brela has nearly six kilometers of pebbled beach that genuinely stands out. Framed by large pine trees, the most beach in Brela is the Punta Rata. The Punta Rata beach was declared as the most beautiful beach in all of Europe by Forbes in 2004. Even now, it remains one of the most popular and beautiful European destinations. The Punta Rata beach is famous for activities like snorkeling and surfing.

One of the most recognizable symbols that are synonymous with the town of Brela is the Brela Rock. It can be said that over the years, this rock has almost grown to become a small island, with Mediterranean trees growing on it. The Brela rock is today a favorite spot for taking photos.

Try out the octopus under the bell, which is a traditional dish here where the octopus is cooked in a special clay pot with an iron lid and placed under wooden embers. Though Brela is a quiet town, there are many activities to indulge in here. For adventurous tourists, there are many activities on the Makarska riviera that you will enjoy. You can play tennis, volleyball, water polo, ride bikes along the marked cycle routes, and also take part in sailing and diving. You can also paraglide or rent a jet ski to get out and experience the Adriatic waters.
