All around the Cetina Canyon, you will find numerous grand reminders of the turbulent history of this region. There are many majestic medieval forts that are located along the entire length of the Cetina River. While some of them are hidden from view, but others are partly destroyed. Some are well-preserved and stand proud high above the Cetina River. These forts serve as great viewing or vantage points over this breathtaking canyon. The most famous of them is the Fort of Visec, located very close to the popular excursion and picnic spot of Radmanove Mlinice (Radman Mills), which is yet another beautifully well-hidden gem that sits amidst the untouched natural beauty of the Cetina Canyon.
From the very first moment that you step into the Cetina Canyon, you will not be able to focus on just one beautiful sight across this entire surrounding landscape. A riot of colors, ranging from green, blue, and white, complement one another and make the combination of vegetation, rock, water, and sky come together to paint a surreal and beautiful picture. The Cetina River also makes its grand entrance to the sea while passing through this extraordinary geomorphological phenomenon. The river is responsible for hollowing out an almost 300-meter high canyon in the limestone bedrock between the majestic mountains of Omiska Dinara and Mosor.
In fact, in the olden days, the magnificent force of the Cetina River was used to spin the wooden water wheel of the local mills of the area. From the 16th century all the way to the 19th century, the complex of the mills here was taken over by the Radman family, who now use it as a summer villa.
The old mill in Radmanove mlinice still stands, and it is a popular attraction for the many tourists who visit here to go on an excursion.
